Every business can benefit from investing in training. You’ll find that you get more out of your staff, your business will grow stronger and your profitability will increase. The Western Australian Department of Training and the SBC South East Metro, are so confident that training will benefit your business that we’d like to offer you up to $200 towards the cost of any training which will improve your management skills.

You or your managerial staff might like to learn new marketing and communication skills or improve customer service, sales techniques, cash flow management or learn MYOB / Quickbooks. The vouchers may even be used to attend relevant conferences or seminars. Only one voucher will be allocated per ABN; however, more than one course/training provider can be applied for on the one voucher application. If you need help identifying your training needs, please call Angela on 9398 6333 for assistance.

To be eligible your business must

  • have an ABN
  • employ fewer than 20 people (full and part-time) and
  • have the training approved by SBC South East Metro prior to commencement of training.

An application must be received and approved by the SBC South East Metro and a voucher issued PRIOR to commencement of training. Please DO NOT proceed with any training until you have received your voucher. Simply submitting your application does NOT secure a voucher. Please ensure that all fields on the application form are completed, or the application will be rejected automatically by the Department of Training's system and won't reach us for approval. Reimbursement can only be made with an authorised voucher.

The trainer is to be paid directly by the participant and then SBC South East Metro will reimburse the agreed amount, after the training is completed and upon receipt of

  • the signed voucher
  • proof of payment to the trainer and
  • a completed evaluation form.

The program for 2007 allows the first $100 to be fully reimbursed, with the remainder of the training to be subsidised on a dollar for dollar basis, up to a maximum voucher of $200 (plus GST if applicable).

Examples

Total course cost of $150 (+ GST if applicable)
    SBC contributes $100 + $25 = $125 (+ GST if applicable)
Your contribution = $25 (+ GST if applicable)

Total course cost of $300 (+ GST if applicable)
    SBC contributes $100 + $100 = $200 (+ GST if applicable)
Your contribution = $100 (+ GST if applicable)

Note: Vouchers received by the SBC South East Metro after 30th June 2010 will not be eligible for reimbursement.

Contact the SBC South East Metro on 9398 6333 or reception@sbcsem.com.au for more information or click here to go to the application form.
